Grand Strand Detachment 873 5th Annual Golf Tournament

The Grand Strand Detachment 873 proudly hosted its 5th Annual Golf Tournament on 25 July 2026 at The Legends Golf & Resort – Heathland Course. This year’s tournament welcomed an outstanding field of 108 players, forming 27 foursomes.

A highlight of the day was the appearance of Ernie “Boom‑Boom” Guimond, Long Drive Professional, whose skill and showmanship added excitement and energy to the event.

Mother Nature tested us, offering a good start before sending a bit of rain our way. But true to Marine Corps spirit, our players pressed on through the light showers and completed the round with determination and good humor. The camaraderie on the course made the day memorable for all involved.

The Detachment extends its deep appreciation to every member who volunteered their time and effort to ensure the tournament’s success. We also offer sincere thanks to the Legends Golf staff for their professionalism and support throughout the event.

Overall, it was a great day of golf.
