On 16 March 2024 the MCL Grand Strand Detachment 873 Honor Guard presented colors at opening day ceremonies for the Waccamaw Little League located at the newly constructed Waverly Sports Complex. Rolling Thunder and Combat Vets escorted the traveling wall from Florence SC to The Market Common Myrtle Beach as well Horry County Sheriff's Department and Myrtle Beach Police Department.
On July 29, 2023, the MCL Grand Strand Detachment 873 held their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at Wild Wing Plantation Golf Course was a success. There were 120 players attended. Mother Nature was not cooperating in the afternoon. Everyone enjoyed themselves especially shooting the golf ball out of a AR15!

On Thursday 9 November 2023 at 1200, City of Myrtle Beach South Carolina dedicated a World War II memorial at Warbird Park located in Market Common. There were approximately 500
spectators attended including 11 WWII Veterans. These Veterans ranged in age from 95 to 102 years young. During this ceremony there were songs from this era performed by "The Southern Gentlemen of the Low Country Chorus". Myrtle Beach Fire Department presented the colors and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 925 performed a rifle salute with Taps.
Last night at our Detachment meeting Quartermasters Gerry Davies received the Associate of the year for all her Support and dedicated work for the detachment. Well deserved!

On 16 December 2023 Grand Strand Detachment held their annual Holiday Dinner. It was held at Walk On's Sports Bistreaux. We had about 15 Detachment members and spouses attend. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
